We were sandwiched in a crowd of at least 50,000 people in Senate Square, waiting for the show to begin. Eventually, a serpent floated in front of Helsinki Cathedral.  When the sky darkened, New Age music ushered in a magical whale, that soared between the Cathedral and the Government Palace.
